Yealink, RedSky Rejuvenating E911

October 18, 2017

When it is time to call 9-1-1, clearly an emergency scenario is playing out. Whatever the particular issue, in that moment it is mission critical that communications tools at hand are functioning as expected. E911 is on the rise, and this recently RedSky (News - Alert) Technologies announced a new partnership to further its product offering.

Recently, Yealink and RedSky Technologies announced a deepened relationship coming as a result of successful interoperability testing between the RedSky’s Horizon Mobility solution and Yealink’s (News - Alert) IP phones designed for use on the BroadSoft BroadWorks platform.

“RedSky is excited to team with Yealink to bring next generation E911 technology to the market,” said Tony Maier, CEO of RedSky. “Together we are delivering the future of E911 mobility tracking for enterprises served by the BroadSoft (News - Alert) Business Suite.”

Horizon Mobility is a next generation 9-1-1 architecture empowering the ability for a phone to request its location when it moves, and when 9-1-1 is dialed, send its location. Calls are routed to the appropriate 9-1-1 contact center, resulting from the integration of the SIP-based tech with RedSky’s E911 Anywhere cloud service.

With the successful certification, now those experiencing an emergency that use Horizon Mobility and one of the designated Yealink IP phones automatically sends their location when calling 9-1-1.

“Yealink is amazed at RedSky’s Horizon Mobility™ and feels delighted to complete interoperability with it on the BroadWorks® platform. This integration broadens applicable scenarios of our products and strengthens customers’ competitiveness,” said Stone Lu (News - Alert), Yealink’s Vice President. “While dedicating itself to innovating the UC communication product portfolios, Yealink also seeks mutual improvement with correspondent industry leaders to provide users with more diverse solutions."

Communications are vital in any business, but especially in respect to a situation requiring a call to 9-1-1. And, this partnership is putting the proper pieces in place to ensure first responders find you, and save the day.
