Nology Adds Yealink T5 IP Phones
Internet protocol (IP) phones are an excellent way to improve the capability of voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) systems. Sometimes , these systems can even help sell the service thanks to the sheer range of features and benefits such bring to the table. Nology—Yealink (News - Alert)'s platinum distributor in South Africa—recently upped its own ante by bringing Yealink's T5 Smart Media Phones to the end users, giving same a new option in the field.
The new T5 series from Yealink includes three versions: the T56A, the T58A, and the T58V. All three offer several similar features, ranging from the Android (News - Alert) operating system to the inclusion of both high-definition audio and video. Each allows for a certain number of session initiation protocol (SIP) accounts to be in place, along with dual-port GigE, Wi-Fi connectivity, a USB headset and Bluetooth connectivity along with the option to bring in a color screen.
Meanwhile, there are some more subtle differences among the devices; the T58A and T58V, for example, include adjustment options for the screen and camera, which helps users accommodate different sitting heights without having to turn to unwieldy expedients like placing the device on a stack of binders. Also included is one-touch access to information on screen as well as HD voice and support for the Opus codec to ensure the best experience.
Nology product manager Alex Bantjes noted “With the rapid adoption of high speed Internet access and the constant push for a unified collaboration and communication experience, more organizations are looking to better utilize the tools at their disposal. They require devices not only to be smart, but also add value to their business. By using products such as Yealink’s T58A/V with Android, businesses can further leverage their PBX’s (News - Alert) features by enabling smart applications such as 3CX’s Web Meeting, for example, to enable video and audio conferencing from a desktop IP phone.”
With the new Yealink offerings in place, Nology can do two things: one, it can go back to the well of satisfied current customers and pose an offer for new Yealink systems. This is a strategy that almost markets itself: “I know you've got a great Yealink IP phone in place already with Model Whatever, but we've got a new model out you should really take a look at.” Two, it can expand its reach out to customers that don't have any Yealink tech in place already, offering the expanded features set and accompanying benefits.
The end result should be some great new sales for Nology and an expanded market for Yealink, a combination that makes this IP phone duo a force to be reckoned with in the field.
