Distribution Deal with ScanSource Expands StarLeaf UC Cloud Solution
The right distributor can catapult a company and make it a major player in its field by increasing its presence beyond its current market reach. This of course requires a product or service that can be marketed and accepted by a wide range of customers. Lucky for StarLeaf, unified communications (UC), video conferencing and cloud technology are in high demand, which makes the agreement it signed with ScanSource (News - Alert), a global distributor of technology products and solutions, very timely.
This distribution agreement is going to give StarLeaf access throughout the US and Canada, making its UC cloud and its entire portfolio of video calling and conferencing solutions to more customers. The company currently provides secure, reliable and rich video conferencing services to Fortune 500 companies, as well as SMBs around the world.
As a global distributor, ScanSource has access to customers, as well as resellers and sales partners across almost every vertical market in North America, Latin America and Europe. It will be using this network to offer the StarLeaf OpenCloud solution to simplify management and interoperability of video conferencing with the leading meeting room systems, including Cisco, Polycom (News - Alert), Lifesize or Avaya.
"This new relationship promises to be a powerhouse that fuses our advanced cloud technology and innovation with one of the industry's most recognized and trusted providers. Together we will enable the reseller community to meet the communication needs of all businesses, from the very large right down to the small," said William MacDonald, CTO, StarLeaf.
The StarLeaf OpenCloud (News - Alert) platform allows users to make and receive point-to-point video calls, schedule and join video conferences in a rich communications environment. It was designed to get rid of compatibility issues by delivering universal connectivity so users, no matter what type of video equipment they have, can directly call anyone else on another video system. The platform also offers a secure, fully redundant and reliable environment.
This type of interoperability means existing and new video installations can have a longer life because they will be using this UC OpenCloud platform, which is not restricted in its calling capabilities.
StarLeaf has been an innovator in the segment, and it was recognized with the Frost & Sullivan (News - Alert) Video Conferencing Leadership Award for its efforts. Roopam Jain, Director of Conferencing and Collaboration practice at Frost & Sullivan, commented on this partnership. He said, "StarLeaf continues to gain traction in the market. This relationship with ScanSource shows just how fast StarLeaf is moving towards becoming the glue that brings everything together, allowing users to call anyone, anywhere, irrespective of the type of their device."
