Edgewater & Yealink Serving SMB Space with New Solution
Built on ambition and innovation, Yealink (News - Alert) has forged a foundation of future-forward and feature-rich IP Phones and endpoints. And in the midst of its expanding market presence, today the Chinese firm unveiled a mid-market unified communications solution as a result of its collaboration with Edgewater Networks (News - Alert).
The solution comes on the heels of successful interoperability testing between the firms, and provides
SMBs with an enterprise-level unified communications suite at pocket friendly price point. The solution utilizes the Edgewater Networks’ EdgeView Service Control Center as a unified point of management and analytics for all premises-based solutions. This includes Yealink’s T4 IP phone series as well as Edgewater Networks’ EdgeMarc intelligent Edges.
“With less than 20 percent of SMBs in the U.S. deploying an IP-based communications platform, there is an immediate need for a solution that delivers the advanced features and reliability of our T4 voice products and Edgewater Networks’ proactive monitoring and management capabilities,” noted Stone Lu (News - Alert), Vice President at Yealink. “Following the certification of our SIP enabled phones in Edgewater Networks QuickConnect Interoperability Lab, a quick and seamless on-site deployment with optimized voice quality is now a reality for smaller companies.”
The pricing scale was designed to allow a business to scale its deployment over time and, because of interoperability between the platforms, provisioning is zero-touch. Leveraging Edgewater Networks’ Network Edge Orchestration platform, users are provided a bevy of robust functionality that includes security, analytics, actionable intelligence as well as service quality management.
“Yealink’s forward thinking approach to delivering a quality voice experience to an underserved market with a strong function-to-value proposition is in lock-step with our own strategy,” explained Steve Pattison, Chief Operating Officer at Edgewater Networks.
This pairing poses a formidable foe for those in the unified communications space, as it brings together two companies at the fore of communications enablement and technology, AND addresses a highly underserved market – SMBs. Only time will tell what’s next for this partnership; my eyes are peeled.
